Thomas Properties is a multi-generation family-owned business with roots in Santa Fe dating back to the 1860s when Benjamin M. Thomas came to Santa Fe ultimately becoming both the Secretary and acting Governor of the Territory of New Mexico.

Thomas Properties was previously managed by Bradley M. Thomas, Sr., Bradley M. Thomas, Jr., and is currently managed by 4th generation owner Forrest R. Thomas.

The Thomas family has a long and significant history of civic engagement and involvement in the betterment of Santa Fe and New Mexico including the protection of Native American water rights, the renovation of the Palace of the Governors, the establishment of the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Santa Fe as well as assisting with the establishment of Santa Fe High School where Bradley M. Thomas, Sr. was in the first graduating class of 1900. The Thomas Family also donated land to create the Santa Fe Airport and the city’s wastewater treatment plant and more recently donated 120 acres with nearly a mile of open space along Hyde Park road.

Bradley M. Thomas, Jr. developed considerable amounts of real estate along the Saint Michael’s Drive corridor including Saint Michaels Village East and West shopping centers, Thomas Heights I, and the Bank of America as well as numerous other properties. Mr. Thomas donated tremendous amounts of time to Kiwanis and many other organizations throughout his forty-year career as a real estate investor, developer and owner earning numerous awards and recognition as a significant contributor to the city of Santa Fe.

Thomas Properties and the Thomas family have been involved in the creation of hundreds of affordable homes in Santa Fe including the Hopewell-Mann and Thomas Heights I & II neighborhoods.

More recently, current company President Forrest Thomas was one of the early supporters of the RE:MIKE initiative project and ultimately the city’s Midtown LINC Overlay District, and is one of the founding board members of the New Mexico Self Storage Association, and has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations.
